I said in my last post, that I think this has been Offset’s year. There’s a constant debate about who the best Migo is, and more and more people are starting to realise that it is Offset. True Migos fans like me always knew how talented he was, but his talents have come into a much wider limelight this year, and he has become one of the hottest commodities in rap right now. As it’s basically the end of the year, I thought I’d do a list of the best 10 Offset guest verses/features I have heard this year. Enjoy!
10. NAV – MINUTE FT PLAYBOI CARTI & OFFSET
The best track from Nav’s latest mixtape. Nav started off the song so well, that I didn’t know how if it was even going to be able to spin him. But then Offset came in. The flow. The harmony. The aggressive flow. Such a hard verse, and it helped make this song one of my favourite songs of 2017.
9. COUSIN STIZZ – HEADLOCK FT OFFSET
I don’t know a lot about Cousin Stizz’s music, but he held his own on this track. But if I’m being honest, I only clicked on the song because I saw Offset’s name. The way he rode the beat on this track was stupid; it’s almost as if the beat was specifically formed just for his verse. It’s sad when the feature artist spins the main artist off their own track, but that’s what happened. Another top Offset feature.

8. PEEWEE LONGWAY – SLEEPING ON A KILO FT OFFSET
These two’s chemistry on tracks is uncanny. From Peewee’s first mixtape, every song they’ve ever done together has been a banger. I was sad to see last year that the two had had a falling out. It was over the dumbest thing ever too; they argued over who started the dab. So stupid init? That made it even better to see Offset featured on Peewee’s latest mixtape, which would assume that they’ve overcome that rubbish, and what a banger these two produced. Offset’s hook is short and sweet, and he kills his verse as usual. His flow is actually crazy; the way he attacks beats is actually nuts. Another Offset inspired hit.
7. PHILTHY RICH – WATER LEAK FT OFFSET, LIL UZI & SAUCE WALKA¬
Sorry Philthy Rich and Sauce Walka, this is Offset and Uzi’s track. Offset’s hook, and Uzi’s verse just make the song. It’s such a banger that I’d actually put it as one of my songs of the year; I’m surprised it didn’t receive more attention. I remember back when Offset never used to jump on hooks at all; what a sad time we were living in.
6. FUTURE AND YOUNG THUG – PATEK WATER FT OFFSET
I can’t believe I didn’t use to rate this song. I don’t even know why I didn’t rate it, it just didn’t appeal to me proper when I first heard it. I preferred other songs on Super Slimey to it, and I just used to skip it whenever I replayed the album. One day, I listened to it again by accident, and I’m convinced that the Patek Water I heard at first was a bootleg. No way is that the same song as I’m hearing now. This song is crazy. Offset just spins Future and Thug so wildly, it’s actually kinda embarrassing, considering this was their tape. Can you imagine, one feature on your first collab tape, and you get spun by the feature artist. But, we should know by now, there’s nothing Offset can’t do anymore.
5. LIL DUKE – DOUBLE FT OFFSET
This was a very good tape, and I recommend everyone to listen to it. Lil Duke has really grown as an artist, and this was probably his best tape yet. But this track was definitely one of the standouts. The beat is weird; it almost sounds like it’s not been mixed down properly. Strangely, that made it sound even better to me. It’s a very eerie beat, and Offset kills it. I think there should be a rule; if you’re going to get Offset for a feature, never let him go first, because more times than not, he’s gonna wash you. This happened here, because he really ripped Duke here, and he proved why he’s one of the best rappers around right now. A great verse, for a great song.
4. METRO BOOMIN – NO COMPLAINTS FT OFFSET AND DRAKE
Sorry to say it, but Drake can’t hold his own against Atlanta artists. This song makes it Offset, 21 Savage, Future and Young Thug to have washed him on a track. But anyway, that’s an argument for another day. I couldn’t believe that these two had collabed to make a track, because you’d think that out of any of Migos for Drake to collab with, it would be Quavo. Obviously, they did with Portland, but I didn’t expect him to ever do a track with either Offset or Takeoff. Well, he did, and it was a banger. This was one of the songs of the summer for me, and I think this song convinced a lot of people that Offset can hold his own amongst the heavyweights of hip hop, because he really done a madness here.
3. GUNNA – BEAT DA CASE FT OFFSET
Two of my personal favourite artists on one track here. It took me longer than expected to warm up to this track, but now I can never get tired of it. There was so much chemistry on this track, and these two really sounded good together. One of my highlights from Drip Season 2, and definitely one of Offset’s best features this year.
2. GUCCI MANE – MET GALA FT OFFSET
This song is special to me personally, because it’s the first song I played after I completed my final university exam. What a hit. What a track. What a verse. I’d never heard Offset flow like this on a track ever before, and I kept on having to wheel it, because I was well and truly in awe.I said earlier that Offset attacks the beat so ferociously, but this was a new level of attack. This was a full on onslaught on the beat. It’s a shame that Offset’s verse was so hard, because it made people not take in Guwop’s verse, which was crazy in its own right too. But this was definitely one of Offset’s best verses, on any track, ever.
1. YOUNG NUDY – CANCER STICK NO PRESSURE FT OFFSET
This song was originally called Cinco de Mayo, but I think something went wrong with the titling of the tracks on Nudy’s Nudy Land tape. Listen to this song in loud speakers, and be prepared to be taken away. I said that Met Gala was one of Offset’s best verses ever, but so is this tune. The way he goes in here is actually insane. He rode the beat with ease, and he was saying some STUFF here. Also, it has one of the best hooks I’ve heard this year by any artist. I had it to put it at number 1, because when I first heard it, I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. What a feature, and what a guy.
